Section J Reports
A Section J report is a document obtained from a Section J consultant which highlights the Energy Efficiency requirements for a specific building or design. The requirements are defined by Section J in Volume 1 of the National Construction Code (formerly called the Building Code of Australia, or BCA).
JV3 Reports
A JV3 Report is an assessment report used to demonstrate compliance with the Energy Efficiency requirements of the National Construction Code. BERA’s JV3 assessments are a flexible and powerful tool to ensure your commercial building projects are compliant.
Using 3D thermal modelling software, a BERA Energy Efficiency consultant will create a detailed model of the building, incorporating all relevant construction and design details. From this model, we calculate the thermal performance of the building and form the basis for the JV3 assessment and report.
Daylighting Assessments
Daylighting studies provide detailed data on the quantity and quality of natural daylight that enters a building. Good use of daylighting can materially reduce a building’s reliance on artificial lighting – in addition to improving the indoor environment quality for the building’s occupants. Where a building does not comply with the Deemed to Satisfy provisions of the National Construction Code, detailed daylight modelling for the building can demonstrate compliance. Our daylight modelling will quantify the “Average Daylight Factor” for the building (needed for compliance), in addition to other metrics which provide designers and architects the guidance they need.
